What is Nori?
Nori is commonly used as foodstuff which is made from seaweed.
Nori is harvested, cut, and spread out thin on boards to dry until it resembles brittle paper.
The dried product, called Hoshinori, is a blackish purple color, but it turns a lustrous dark green and gives off a unique
aroma when passed quickly over a flame. It is used for making Makizushi, Nigirizushi Ochaduke, and numerous other
dishes.

The History of Nori
Nori has a long history.
Nori was on the list which Japanese first law picked up as a tribute for the imperial court in the 6th century.
It used to be one of the most luxurious ingredients along with fish and clams.
In the Edo period, the cultivation of Nori started and disseminated.
Square shaped Nori started to be sold in this period.
As it is widespread over the market. It became possible for ordinary people to get Nori.
After invention of artificial seedling collection, the efficiency of cultivation improved and now
the yield of Nori stabilized and got to 7 billion.
Basic knowledge of Nori
There are the back and front sides of Nori.
The smooth side is front and the rough side is back.
If you roll rice with Nori, the rough side should be inside.
The way to preserve Nori.
If the sack of Nori which you bought has vinyl fasteners, it is good to use the sack to preserve it.
If there is no fastener with it, you move the Nori into the sealed container whose lid is easy to open and close,
with desiccant which is attached in the same sack of Nori.
It can keep the quality for around 3 months if you reserve rightly.
It is recommended to eat as soon as possible after taking them out of a sealed container.
The merit of Nori on health

It also contains much beta-carotene which is effective to prevent cancer. - Effective for lifestyle related diseases by taurine
Nori contains much taurine which could decrease bad cholesterol and is effective to prevent hypertension-related disease. - Good for the snack while drinking alcohol
Nori, which contains a lot of protein, can help liver function for breaking down alcohol.
